Marie Clerel

France, Paris Galerie Binome

Observation and questioning about the nature of images are the fundamental elements of Marie Clerel’s (FR, 1988) artwork. She pushes photogram to its limit, through the means of a ‘contactless’ technique, which is the specificity of her research: photography as the poetic work of the light. She also overflows the question of the limits of the photographic medium, through in situ installations, which solicit the perception in response to our presence in the exhibition space. Her research on the materiality of the image stands at the crossroad of artistic genres, while revisiting the primitive practices of photography, especially the cyanotype technique.
